The Influence of Internet Connection Quality and Campus Study Spaces on Student Lecture Effectiveness

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has significantly influenced the learning process in higher education, particularly in terms of internet connectivity and campus learning environments. This study aims to analyze the effect of internet connection quality and campus learning spaces on the effectiveness of university lectures. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed to examine the causal relationships between the independent variables, namely internet connection quality and campus learning spaces, and the dependent variable, lecture effectiveness. The population of this study consisted of active university students who participated in online and offline learning activities during the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods with the assistance of SPSS software. Classical assumption tests, including normality and multicollinearity tests, were conducted to ensure the validity of the regression model. The results of the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test indicated that the data were normally distributed, and no multicollinearity was detected among the independent variables. The multiple linear regression analysis revealed that internet connection quality did not have a significant effect on lecture effectiveness, while campus learning spaces had a positive and significant effect. Furthermore, campus learning spaces were identified as the most dominant factor influencing lecture effectiveness. These findings suggest that, although technological infrastructure is important, the quality of physical learning environments plays a more crucial role in enhancing lecture effectiveness. Therefore, higher education institutions are encouraged to prioritize the improvement of campus learning spaces to support effective learning processes.
