Sexual violence can have long-term psychological consequences for survivors, including difficulties in accepting themselves and negative self-perceptions. Social support is considered an important external resource that may help survivors develop better self-acceptance. This study aimed to examine the role of social support in predicting self-acceptance among emerging adult women who had experienced sexual violence. This study employed a quantitative correlational design involving 217 women aged 18–40 years who had experienced sexual violence at least one year prior to the study. Data were collected using a social support scale based on Sarafino and Smith's theory and the Self-Acceptance Scale developed by Berger. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and ordinal logistic regression. The normality test using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test indicated that the data were not normally distributed (p < 0.001); therefore, ordinal logistic regression was employed according to the ordinal nature of the dependent variable. The model fitting test showed a significant improvement in the final model (χ² = 99.668; p < 0.001). The goodness-of-fit tests indicated that the model adequately fitted the data, with Pearson p = 0.086 and Deviance p = 0.135. The Nagelkerke pseudo R-square was 0.439, indicating that social support explained 43.9% of the variance in self-acceptance. The parameter estimation showed that social support positively and significantly predicted self-acceptance (β = 0.093; Wald = 66.038; p < 0.001; 95% CI = 0.070–0.115). These findings indicate that higher levels of social support are associated with a greater likelihood of higher self-acceptance among emerging adult women who have experienced sexual violence. Social support may therefore serve as an important protective resource in the psychological recovery and self-acceptance process of sexual violence survivors.
